Here at HCC, we are always looking for supporters from Nepal and from all around the globe.
What is needed?
On a day-to-day basis, we mainly need money for food-related items. To cook a good dhal bat, we need rice, oil, lentils, vegetables and spices, and this can get expensive. We consider it an absolute necessity to give the children varied and nutritious food. To be able to cook, we also need to buy gas tanks.
All the children go to school. They are really talented, but to be fully efficient they need school supplies: Stationery, pens, clean uniforms, exercise books and benches to work on are all part of their intellectual development. We also want to be able to sign them in good schools that will help them find good work and a sustainable lifestyle.
Even though they wear a uniform at school, the kids let their fashion spirit shine at the orphanage. However, we are always in need of new clothes: They grow up fast and life at the orphanage wears down clothes fast. Warm clothes in winter are also vital!

On the long run, we also need to think about the rainy season. Every year, mud flows in the orphanage and floods part of the buildings. We are looking at pouring concrete alleys to help solve the problem, but it is really expensive. Furthermore, we want to be able to provide regular medical check-ups and be sure that all the kids are in good shape, so we wish to have a doctor come each month: we hope to find one who would be willing to do it as volunteer work. Finally, we would like to be able to provide specialized trainings to the most gifted of the kids, to help them get the job of their dreams.
How to help?
You can help us most by coming to the orphanage and volunteering (see volunteering in menu). Of course, we understand that not everyone can come to Nepal. You can help us in many other ways!
You can help us by donating money, which is always a big help. You can see in the above texts that life at HCC gets quite expensive and we sometimes struggle to gather the money needed to suit the children’s needs. You can donate by following this link.
Sharing is also a way to help. For example, sharing our Facebook page is a great help: it may reach one of your friends looking for volunteering abroad and make him contact us. Also, if you know someone who might be able to send useful help our way, for example someone who works in clothing and may have surplus at the end of the year, or a doctor willing to check on the kids every once in a while, please send them our way!
Caring for the kids is already helping in its own way, and your support will always be appreciated and remembered.
